Once your up there is never coming back down. You can just google your name and if your are well known in the community your info will probably show up.
I do not take steps to protect my privacy because I do not put my contact information on social media websites. I do not see why I really would want to take the steps to be safe if I already know better not to.

Questions 2, 3, and 4
2.) I think there should be a limit on what people can say on blogs. That's because the things people may say could hurt an ethnic group or even just a group of people. I think it would be really hard to implement that because all things can be taken a different way especially online. I just wish they would take blogging of the internet sometimes because some people join them to make fun of or to hurt someone.
I feel it does give to much power to people who don't deserve it. That's because a lot of people abuse the internet as a way to "cyber bullying" sometimes people don't even know each other and just assume that they are bad and post/ blog bad things about the other. Which in the end causes unneeded conflict.
3.) I think when I first had my Facebook, for about a year I didn't have it secured. That was because I was basically sheltered in going to a private catholic school. This didn't changed until I was in 7th grade when we had a lady in for internet safety. This kind of showed me how unsafe I was being online unsecure and adding friends I didn't know. So now I add people who I know and my profile is locked to only my friends and nobody else.
The steps I take for protecting my profile for Facebook is to go to the settings and change it to "only friends" for who can see my profile. Then I make sure not to show where I go to school. Finally I try not to have my profile picture have and spectrum apparel in it.

I don't agree. We could never tell some one they can't use the internet. Internet is such a big thing in this world. It would be almost impossible to cause businesses use it and kids use it for school.
We live in a free county so you can't really do that. we all have the right to use what we want. If we were never allowed to use it it would be one thing but now that we all use it so much you couldn't take it away.

Yes I have. I try really hard not to but sometimes I do. I try not to post things on my Facebook with names of places I'm at and shirts with names on it. I do not think it is a good idea though.
I am not confident at all that my stuff is safe. I am always think about he can see my stuff. I always put my stuff to private. I don't put numbers or address on those site either.

2). I believe controls should be placed on blogs. What kind of controls though? These controls should include a limit of how much can said, but I believe there should be slight restrictions of what can be said, even though there is freedom of speech. A reason for the slight restrictions of what can be said, would stop people from posting things such as the bad things they're going to do to our country, government, or they plan to "Attack" if anything. We don't want people going online and proclaiming these kinds of things or there would be widespread panic across our country from threats that would be being posted. That's one kind of restriction I would want on blogs.

2 I believe that there should be no restrictions on a blog. Restrictions would get in the way of every thing. also that If you post something it is your own fault.
If you mess up then you fail. Sorry to say but that's life. So don't do bad things and there will be no restrictions.
3 I do post place's hat I'm going or I am at. Also I put other personal things on like if someone has died or if something has happened. Things I post are there because I wouldn't care who saw it.
The only steps I take to protect my security is to put it in my safe locked away and not on the web. If you are not sure don't put it on. If I am not safe that is all my fault I didn't do something right.

3) Never make personal information available online. Predators can stalk someone just based on a sweatshirt they wear in a photo. Your security online is not very secure and you can run into problems online and offline. The only effective way to protect yourself online is to not put your personal information out there for strangers to see.

No I do not think anything should be controlled. If you are free to write a book about it then you should be able to write a blog. We live in America where we have freedom of speech we should have freedom to blog too. I think people are more likely to believe a book then a blog.
There should be laws about posting crude pictures and rude things about people. We can't have laws about what what we can post about really cause every one has different views and some might be mad about it but others might like it. This law should be reopened and reconsidered.

2.) There are definitely controls that should be put on blogs. Otherwise, everyone can post whatever they want, and that could get sort of bad. However, people should for sure be able to have freedom of speech, and state their opinions. But people should know that they need to refrain from being inappropriate, and only say what they want under control.
Blogs can be a very good thing. They teach culture, and show that there are so many different ways to express people. Also, how there are so many different kinds of people out there. Blogs help people learn about other people from everywhere in the world. Also, they provide great ideas for anyone willing to search them out.
3.) I own a Facebook, so some of my personal information is out there. This can be a scary thing, but can be okay if you are careful. I have chosen to not make my phone number available, nor where I live. I only give out my name, and am careful about anything that I post. I think this is how everyone should do it.
I feel confident in this method, because it protects me, and people I know. There are so many horror stories of what can happen, if one is not careful. Double check everything that you post, just to make sure you aren't giving too much away. This is because once it is out there, it is long gone, and you can never get it back.

Some of the websites on the other hand don't require a crazy amount of blocks or other things like spectrum high school has which controls everything we do. Putting limits on blogs will not only limit who uses it but also who will read and view blogs. #2: I don't think controls should be placed on blogs. Blogs are there for your opinion where people look up your title and read to their own discretion. Blogs aren't really known for sending hate out to people. It is more used for life lessons or opinions. You wouldn't normally tag others in posts you create. I think blogs are a safer, smarter way to get information and form opinions without hurting other people. Whereas, other websites, such as: Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram could easily tag others and comment rude or inappropriate things that can be retweeted and shared with the whole world. This is why I think blogs are safer and should have less controls.
#3: I think it is okay to share personal information with the friends you have on Facebook. But, then again some people add random strangers, so it really depends on the person. Either way, there will always be scary people out there who will message you or hack into your personal accounts. It's really up to you how hard you make it for these people to get your information. I have security on all of my online accounts. Then again, I still have strangers message me, but I'm safe because I don't respond. I guess I'm not one-hundred percent sure how safe my security really is, but I've never had a problem yet.

Really, if you think about it, you can overuse or abuse anything: an object, a person, and even the internet. But, that doesn't mean every person is doing it and their rights to the internet should be eliminated. I think people need to be more careful. Some people don't see as if they are doing anything wrong; just being friendly. But, always keep in mind, your mom told you not to talk to strangers for a reason.. you should listen.
#3: I think it is okay to share personal information with the friends you have on Facebook. But, then again some people add random strangers, so it really depends on the person. Either way, there will always be scary people out there who will message you or hack into your personal accounts. It's really up to you how hard you make it for these people to get your information. I have security on all of my online accounts. Then again, I still have strangers message me, but I'm safe because I don't respond. I guess I'm not one-hundred percent sure how safe my security really is, but I've never had a problem yet.

2.) I believe the language use should be controlled, because of children using these blogs. I believe they could control swearing and course language to not be posted on blogs. The language use influences the children that read these blogs. If people keep course language out of blogs, I believe we can influence children's life.

I am pretty confident that nobody will use this information against me, but people can still do stuff to threaten me online. If this happens I will know how deal with it. 2. I personally don't use blogs and I have never been on a blogging site so I would have no idea. I guess if the possibility of younger teenagers getting on a site talking about vulgar things that it should have a parental consent type of thing so you no that is has inappropriate talk.

People are easily influenced by the opinions of others and may believe most of what they read. Not everything may be factual, so individuals need to do their research before assuming that these people writing blogs are right. I think writing definitely influences the people in a big way, especially because it is on the internet. Anyone, of all ages, can acquire the writings of others. People just need to be informed on the things people are writing about because many bloggers are not licensed publishers.

I am certain that anyone can easily hack someone's Facebook to get some of their information, even with privacy settings. 2) I do not think that there should be any restrictions placed on blogs. It is someones opinion, you can choose to listen to it or you can not. It would be different if it were a site that contained facts. If there had to be a restriction of blogs I would say that it would have to cut out vulgar language. If you don't agree with what a blog says you don't have to listen. As a person you have to know what information to take in and what to not pay attention to. One reason that restrictions should not be placed of blogs it that it is a place for some people to vent their emotions over things that are happening.
3) It depends on how you look at it. I think my Facebook account says I live in Zimmerman but 5000 people live in Zimmerman so I am not worried. That would be the only sight that would have personal information about me about my where a bouts. I have ordered things on line threw my amazon account but that is a secure sight. I make sure before I post things about my self that where I write it is safe.
5) I would say that I agree to a point. It really depends on who you are talking about. Some people use the internet for good, therefore they should have access. Some people use it to harm others and therefore should have their internet privileges revoked. The internet can be really helpful, It would be hard to adjust to life with out it but people made it with out the internet before. The TV and radio used to be peoples sources of information. We could go back there but many would not agree.

2. Some, blogs are a way of freedom of speech and by taking it away there taking away peoples rights. Blogs should be controlled though. Not all the information shared is appropriate for the public.
Things like government information and issues could be leaked. Which would end up being a huge problem for the government. Other than watching for government information blogs should not be limited.

5. No i do not agree with him. People do have a right to internet access. Not all internet access is used recklessly either.
The internet makes it possible for people to connect when it isn't possible in person. Without the internet the world would be a lot less productive than it is today. It also keeps things more organized

2. I think that there should be no control placed over blogs. The internet is a place where you have the freedom to do whatever you want. If we put regulations or controls on blogs, that is removing that freedom away from the internet. These blogs are also a great place for people to post news quickly, controls would not allow them to do this.
Also, if you put controls on blogs, you will be giving command to the higher ups and taking away from the less important people. Then these higher ups use this to there advantage to block off any news that might make them or a friend look bad. This just shows that these controls would do more harm for our society than good.
3. The most personal info I have put on a profile is my name and my state. I try to keep most of my personal info to myself, which is why I really don't use Facebook that often. I really don't think any type of info is safe on the internet. The people that would want to stalk you can track you down on some of the littlest info imaginable. I don't know about distributing power, but I think that they can be helpful for relaying information across the web.
3. Yes, I make personal information available online. I know that nothing placed on the internet could be considered secure. Yes, I will protect my information by placing restrictions on who can see it, making sure that I won't regret giving out something, and also taking something off if I decide I want to make a change to it.
5. I don't think it should be said as "no one has the right", but rather "everyone should have the right". I think that the internet is a very powerful medium that can be used for endless purposes. Everyone should be able to have access to it, because it is there to be used. After all, if you have the technology to do something more efficiently, why not use it?
